Welcome to the Sierra Camera Club!
The Sierra Camera Club (SCC) is Sacramento’s premier photography club founded way back in 1936. Our objective is to provide opportunities for our members to learn more about the art and science of photography, to hone their photographic knowledge and skills, to receive constructive feedback given by expert photographers and judges, and to share their images and experiences with their peers.
We run judged competitions in four divisions, each of which has several categories:
- Digital: Open & Creative
- Digital: Nature & Landscape
- Digital: Travel (Single Images & Sequences) & Photojournalism
- Prints: (Monochrome, Color & Creative)
Our competitions are currently done online except of course for prints. The print competitions are held at the Shepard Garden & Arts Center in McKinley Park in Sacramento.
In 2026, we are also piloting an informal, themed competition named the Alternate Division, that has been successful in other photo clubs.
Come check us out online or in person and if you like to join, sign up on the membership page.
The Sierra Camera Club is a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) and the Northern California Council of Camera Clubs (N4C).
